I’ve been dipping in and out of my Dialogue 004 draft for the past few days and it’s slowly starting to take shape. I never planned for it to take this long but the moment I started writing I realized I didn’t really know what I wanted to say yet. That doesn’t happen often for me as I usually wait long enough until the general idea is formed in my head. Only then I pick up the pen and write my thing — mostly in one sitting.

This time, I come up with a few sentences and then I’d have to sit and think about my next ones for a while. Sometimes that took days. I’m nearing completion though.

Also, I write a lot on my phone and: am I the only one who takes it out of the case when interacting with the machine for a longer period of time? There’s something about touching the raw material that makes manipulating the UI on that gorgeous screen feel a lot more… tactical? Writing in dark mode in IA Writer (my favorite writing app) is as close in making the words appear out of nothing as possible, I think.

Finally, a random thought: money spent on quality of life improvements — wether that’s tools, infrastructure or consumptions — is never wasted.
