My six favorite Fujifilm film simulation recipes of 2023

I think we can all agree that Fujifilm's film simulations are amazing. That's why I have created six film simulation recipes that have been living on both my Fujifilm X100V and X-Pro3 for the better part of a year now.

Work smarter not harder: AI is here to stay and so are artists

I don’t think AI is ‘going to take our jobs’. I do, however, think it’s here to do all the jobs us humans don’t necessarily want to do. Which mostly overlaps with jobs that humans are not really good at anyway.

Street photography in Greece but also taking a break

My phone screen wakes from an email: ‘extra information about your upcoming trip to Greece’, it reads. I peek out of the window to the left of me and see nothing but droplets on glass. The perfect time to extend summer just that little bit more.

I went to London and turned into a street photographer

London is a big city. That might sound like an obvious statement to some, but at this particular Thursday morning, I had no idea yet.

One Two One

A black and white square-format photography project made during the winter of 2020/2021.

Hi, my name is Mitch. I'm a photographer and writer from The Netherlands. I have a monthly newsletter called ‘Dialogue’ about photography, walking and exploration. I also have a YouTube channel, where I share videos about street photography strategies and looks behind the scenes.

2022 In review: one year of monthly newslettering (and some other things)

This is the one-year anniversary of this newsletter going out monthly! I want to use this first anniversary to reflect, but also share some accomplishments, statistics, and ideas for the future. I'll end with some personal notes.

There's only one thing wrong with the Fujiiflm XF10

I bring the XF10 when my other Fujis are too cumbersome (yes, even the X100V can be too much at times), or too dangerous (when going out for drinks abroad, for example). There is, however, a small caveat that I was hoping wouldn’t be an issue but it still sort of is.

Highlighted projects

I like focussing my photography around personal projects. Some are shot over the course of several months, others are finished within a day. A selection of the ones I'm most proud of can be found below.

One Two One
One Two One a black and white photography project, created during a period where a global pandemic, with its imposed restrictions, and a personal search for more fulfilling work come together.A book has been produced, of which only one copy exists.

Through the mist, I hear you calling

This time, I'd like to take you on a walk through the mist of an early morning, with a pleasant discovery following soon after.

Impostor syndrome, zone focussing and a request for feedback

Somebody taps on my shoulder, which startles me a little. I look up, straight into the eyes of the man that just passed me. Apparently, he turned around. He notices my uneasiness.
